Mermista is the Mermaid-Princess of the kingdom of Salineas.
Mermista is part of a race of Mer-Folk, who live in the
underwater city of Salineas. Mermista, however, is the only one who in any way supports the Great Rebellion.
Mermista's father, King Mercier, wants nothing to do with the Horde, so he hopes that they will respect
his decision and leave him in peace. Knowing it is not that simple, Mermista has vowed to help She-Ra
and the Rebels in their fight for freedom.
Being a being living in water, Mermista has been granted
powers over water. She can cause waves to spout from water areas at a moment's notice and also fire water
from her hands. The source of her and all other Mer-Folks power is the Power Pearl, which is located in
her homeland. This magnificent treasure also allows them to transform their fins into human legs and
vice-versa. Basically, without it, they would be absolutely hopeless. [

As well as these physical abilities, Mermista can also
communicate telepathically with the creatures of the sea. Fish, [

], jellyfish, [

] and whales [

] are all within reach of her psychic power, something
that always proves helpful to the Rebellion. It is worth noting that she also seems to have a remarkable
memory regarding things that have occurred in the ocean waters, something good for telling those
unexplained stories... [

Finally, Mermista is the most fickle member of the
Rebellion, as far as her domestic living-space is concerned. The first time we saw her, she came
packaged with the Crystal Falls, one of only two Princess of Power playsets. [

] One episode later, we met her again at a different
location, which seemed to be a part of the Whispering Woods [

] and then we saw her in her homeland of Salineas. [

] It is possible that small streams link the three,
especially as she managed to reach the Pool of the Beast Monster from Crystal Falls, without stepping
out of the water. [
